Rooster Card with material...

Hey everyone…

Just wanted to share with you a new card I just completed…. I made this for a card exchange…  The inside of the cards has “Congratulations on your New Roost” as the sentiment…

The interesting thing about this card… is that 90% of it was made out of material…

Here is what I did…. Now…. Please note…. This is not instructions on how to complete this process…. This is just some quick notes on how I did it…. in case you want to try something similar…

You can use almost any material... just depends on how you are going to cut it for your project... the first two materials in the picture are regular cotton material and the last two are thicker material similar to duck cloth... both of these cut very easily.... but if you use something thicker you will just have to experiment...

Take your material and cut it to fit you paper size.... I just used 8 1/2 x 11 white card stock... using an adhesive spray.... attach the card stock to the reverse side of the material... now you are ready cut...

I used Quickutz cutting dies to make the landscape for my card... one of the cutting dies would have made an area larger than I needed with my green material so I just cut down the material to fit my card....

Then to start the assembly process...  I taped down the blue material to my card.... as you can tell I did not care that the bottom edge was ragged as this portion of the card would be covered with the rest of my items...

I cut out my sun with Sizzix circle cutting die and then added glitter with Goosbumps as the adhesive.... yes, I know it is hard to see the cutting die here... it is the black square thing.... my lighting is not the best.... next time I take pictures I will add more lights so the pictures are clearer...

Here is the coloring part.... I used a digital stamp.... Digi Doodle Shop Rooster Stamp... I have lots of fun with these types of stamps as you can make your project bigger or smaller with your computer... I printed this out on regular card stock and used True Color Fusion stamp pads by Fun Stampers Journey to color in the rooster... just love these ink pads...

As you can see from the close-up.... the coloring process looks really messy and ugly... but once you cut it out....

It cleans up really nice.... and looks like you spent a lot of time coloring the project.... when in reality you only spent about 10 seconds...

One thing that I like to add to my cards.... are extra little bits of flora stuff.... this is just a plastic flora item that I liked and cut down to fit my card...

Now that everything is colored and cut out... you just glue and tape everything down and you have a finished project...

Note that when working with material on material you may have to use really strong glue or glue made specifically for material... I tried using double sided tape and that did not work at all... I had to try a few different glues before I got it just right... OK... really I just gave up and used SuperGlue... as I did not have any glue made for material projects... and   Ha... ha.. I was tired of waiting for the regular glue to dry...

Well that is it for today... hope you liked this project... it was fun to make but a challenge to get it to glue together.... but now I know to be better prepared for the next material project....

Until next time...  be safe...

Halloween Projects....

Hey… everyone out in Cyberspace…

Just wanted to share a couple of Halloween projects that I made a couple of weeks ago…

I recently join a new paper crafting company called “Fun Stampers Journey” and as a new Journey Coach I participate in a card exchange at our monthly meeting…  At my first meeting the theme was Halloween…

Here is what I created using Fun Stampers Journey ATS #047 Cats Meow Stamp and I cut the frame out with the Cricut “Fancy Frames” cartridge  This was a lot of fun as I colored the background using ink pads and daubers…

Also, this was fun as while I was creating this, I felt stuck, I made a sample but just was not happy with the outcome…  and a few other Journey Coaches were helping me assemble the cards and all three of them had suggestions on how to make the card better…  and this was the result… also, here is the stamp that I used…

For this meeting… we were asked to also bring a paper crafted treat holder… I decided to bring an Adult Treat Holder… ha..ha…

I made this using Fun Stampers Journey ‘Trick or Treat’ stamp set and again I used the Cricut “Fancy Frames” cartridge

Here is the great stamp set that I used....

Here are some more shots of the treat holder…

Sorry the pictures don’t show this at a better angle….  Hope you like my projects… they were a lot of fun to make…

Until next time…. Everyone be safe…
